Cruise 6 - Dauphin Island

Mar 19, 2007 Monday - Found fast leak around shaft of seawater pump. Replaced with spare pump and new impeller. Fished two impeller blades from front of heat exchanger.

Mar 20, 2007 Tuesday - Shelby Dock to Dauphin Island

11:00-2:200 Hauled at Nelson Shipyard, pressure washed and replaced all 3 zincs - flat
plate, plus two disks on rudder. Bottom looked good - 2 good skid marks up front
to be repaired. Some paint beginning to wear on corners.

2:00-5:00 west to Dauphin Island, arriving through east pass up to Dauphin Island
Marina 251-861-2201. Tied up for 2 nights with Greg James Manager @ $1/ft.

Mar 21, 2007 Wed - Bicycled to Jim & Tyra's house on the beach. Fun day.

Mar 22, 2007 Thurs - Leaving to run east to Pensacola. Took on 114.2 gallons of diesel, should
have taken 106.3. $2.75 per gallon. May have held some fuel in hoses before?

11:49 a.m. - underway, no. 131 green Bon Secour Bay. East wind 10 knots, 1723 rpm, 200 F engine temp, 2.2 gph, 3.71 mpg, 8.4 knts, engine room 104.5 F

3:22 p.m. - arrived at Redfish Point, odo=43.6 nm., flo = 11.5 gal

Mar 23, 2007 Fri - Anchored at Redfish, beautiful weather 70 F.

DC Fridge begins to cycle after 24 hours off dock, where freezer temp started at 8 F.

1.7 min on/7 off, 2 on/6 off, 2 on/7 off, 1.5 on/7 off = 20% duty cycle, 5 amps when running
at 69 F ambient temp, freezer=23.2 F, fridge=44.4 F (thermostat set to max), engine room 74 F.

TV=2.87 amps, sat Antennae=1.4 amp

Mar 24, 2007 Sat - anchored at Redfish point, perfect weather 69.3 F. Water depth 9 feet, east wind @ 11 knts.

-Replaced both engine belts, John Deere RE51551 from stores. Added water to engine to dilute antifreeze (had used 1.5 gal of 100%).

10:30 a.m. - underway to Pirates Cove, doing laundry. 1459 rpm, 8.9 knots, 1.6 gph, 5.26 mpg

11:16 a.m. - 1075 rpm, 7.5 knots, 1.1 gph, 6.8 mpg against the tide

12:00 noon - anchored in front of Pirates Cove, kayaked in to see Lucinda? and have lunch.

2:00 p.m. - underway to Bon Secour

2:59 p.m. - waved down by Bill Lyle at Lulu's - said he saw the Alligators being built

4:00 p.m. - in the slip at high tide, 4.5 feet minimum depth coming in.
